I have only previously made a website using Wix before so using Weebly was a new experience for me. I learned how to use different features like the embed code feature of the website builder. I disliked how it seemed you could only work off a template and there was a lot that needed to be deleted from the template to be used for my purposes. Before using Weebly, I also tested out Wix again to see which user interface I liked more and I found it very interesting that Wix now has an AI generated text button to help users fill in their websites. I think with proper use of this tool, this could be very helpful to speed up basic web design. Everything I learned from this assignment will help in my future career if I ever need to make my own website or edit an existing website. My website can be found here: https://korynnas5thgradeclass.weebly.com/

From using Diigo I learned how to share websites with built in annotations which I think could be really helpful. I think the annotation tool is especially useful for websites because there is a built in function on my laptop to annotate pdf documents but there is no function to annotate websites. I think this feature would be useful in a classroom setting for people to be able to share their notes on a certain website or document and have it be easily shared to the class. This could also be helpful in my future career in the same way to share notes or important information easily with colleagues.

Technology in this day and age grows and becomes more complex extremely quickly and it can be a hard task to keep up with it and to teach others how to engage with it as well. Teachers are tasked with being the driving force behind technology in education however as it is very important to teach students how to engage with their world, and a large part of that world includes technology. Staying up to date with technology is also key to professional development, as technology provides unique ways to interact with colleagues and the world. For example, teachers and students who are on twitter may be more well equipped with information and skills to succeed than teachers and students who are not. The website linked below provides background information on educational technology and some of the most recent trends in education technology!

  1. Hi Korynna! Your teacher website is very well designed! I especially liked that there was repetition in the layout of the pages. The contrast between your text color and pictures also made the text easy to read throughout your website. You also chose good proximity between text and other graphics on your website. Lastly, you aligned all of the features on your website really well to make it easy to navigate!

  3. Hi Korynna, your website has a lot of satisfying symmetry, and there is very good use of contrast to make things easier to read and group together visually. The different tabs have their own alignments which makes reading the information go smoothly!
