 I think as a teacher I would mainly use Data collection tools to collect criticism about my teaching so that I could improve in the future. I think Data collection could also be helpful to gauge understanding on different subjects before a big test. For example, I could give a Qualtrics survey to students in a math class in which they rate their understanding and comfortability level of a wide range of topics covered in the past that way I know what to focus on more in review sessions. This method of data collection also allows for students to be honest without fear of being judged by their peers, for instance, if I instead asked them to show me with their hands how comfortable they were with each topic. Additionally, survey data collection as opposed to a hand raising or other in person method is more accurate and provides easy graphics to view data in so it is less time consuming to obtain and analyze results.  My distance learning experience took place mostly at the very start of the pandemic and lock down in the spring of 2020. My whole school shut down and all learning was switched to distance learning. This was a very difficult switch as the teachers were also struggling to adapt to the change as well and the altered assignments were very difficult to complete at home. Zoom class was also very difficult without the ability to do in class activities. All finals were also cancelled during this time so both the students and teachers also felt a lack of purpose in learning. I did like the flexibility of distance learning, as I was able to work close to full time during this period because of the time saved doing online assignments and not having to go to physical school. I did not like the diminished learning I experienced during this period, it was much more flexible, but far less impactful.
