I think as a teacher I would mainly use Data collection tools to collect criticism about my teaching so that I could improve in the future. I think Data collection could also be helpful to gauge understanding on different subjects before a big test. For example, I could give a Qualtrics survey to students in a math class in which they rate their understanding and comfortability level of a wide range of topics covered in the past that way I know what to focus on more in review sessions. This method of data collection also allows for students to be honest without fear of being judged by their peers, for instance, if I instead asked them to show me with their hands how comfortable they were with each topic. Additionally, survey data collection as opposed to a hand raising or other in person method is more accurate and provides easy graphics to view data in so it is less time consuming to obtain and analyze results.

From reviewing my classmates blogs this semester I really found the newsletters to be interesting as everyone had such unique ideas and perspectives on the design. The information in the newsletters was also interesting to me because personally I struggled with thinking of topics to use, so seeings everyone's different ideas was very nice. Similarly to the newsletters, I also enjoyed looking at my classmates websites, as again they were all very unique and different. Website design is not my strong suit so it was cool to be able to see other websites that were more well put together than mine.

A technology skill I really want to learn is different functions of Excell. In my DIS lab, I am often exposed to complex features of Excell sheets, like having columns subtract from one another or different tabs. I know how to navigate these more complex sheets, however I do not know how to make sheets of these on my own. I think because I am exposed to them so frequently, and because I plan to be in my lab for another year, it would be nice to learn more about the different functions of Excell to help me better succeed when dealing with them. I can work on achieving this goal by being more involved in Excell sheet tasks in my lab and asking questions, as well as by using online resources that explain more functions of Excell.
